Kylie Minogue Surgery Successful

Australian singer Kylie Minogue has undergone successful surgery to remove
a cancerous lump from her breast, her doctor said.

"Her spirits are high and she's feeling fine," said surgeon Jenny Senior of St.
Frances Xavier Cabrini Hospital in Melbourne. "I am very pleased to be able to
confirm that the operation was successful."

Senior described the singer as the perfect patient, the BBC reported. "I feel
confident that we caught the cancer in time and that she is now on the road to
complete recovery."

The 36-year-old singer announced Tuesday she had breast cancer and
canceled the Australian leg of her Showgirl world tour to undergo the surgery
that was performed Friday.
